Yesterday the wonderful ladies at Urban FarmGirls opened their Bayview studio to the public to hang out and check out their works space.

Their Garage studio and office is right down the block from my home so I always see their sign on their gate and always wanted to take a closer look at what they were up to.

Bridgette gave a nice tour of their space and filled me in on what they are all about(It’s kind of a lot). Making pots, creating vertical gardens, and client urbanscaping pojects.

I also spoke with Tina, who started the whole thing. She does a lot of designing, you can see her plans in the photo.

I was able to take a few photos before my battery died.

UFG does an open studio about once a month. The next one is on June 22, and its a BBQ.

I approached Sarah, asking her if she would allow me to do my final photojournalism project on her. The Last 6 weeks I have been following her around and documenting her lifestyle.

With my project I want to raise awareness of the presence of visually impaired students at SFSU and those with other impairments.

I also wanted to show an individual. A person who doesher own thing and found her way into somewhere she is comfortable and challenged.

Sarah is a freshman at State. She is a BECA major, minoring in journalism. She mentors other students with visual impairment to use computer programs that help them use computers.

Sarah is from Central California. Now she lives in the East Bay, where she commutes to and from school daily.

Sarah is active in her church, where she sings in the house band, and loves to play other instruments on her spare time.

This is a glimpse of Sarah, and some photos from my project.

I am in the process of updating my website (maybe considering moving it to another platform sometime near). Hopefully the update will be mid April or sooner.

Wanted to share some of the ‘new’ photos that will be put up.

These are from a hangout shoot with  Wendy Ch at Ocean beach in SF back from June last year.

SF local artist Charmaine Olivia presented her latest paintings in the collection Muses.

I had the pleasure of visiting the new gallery space at 886 Geary, meeting Charmaine, and documenting the opening for Muses.

Jennifer from White Walls was incredibly welcoming and made sure I was having an awesome night.

The art works will be at the White Wall and Shooting Gallery til March 2nd.

The second show I have a photo featured in is the Abstract photo show in room 271 in the Fine Arts building by the Photo Guild at State which opened this past Monday 9/24 and will be up til next Friday 10/5.

Definitely check out the work in person and see the other awesome work in the shows.

Both rooms are generally open between noon-4pm, Monday-Friday.

We’re working on a few new projects and other ideas are floating around, also I’m in a photo class this semester so I can’t wait to start shooting and showing new images that I come up with.

I know I need to catch up on updating the site, but for now a few new film images to quench our thirsts.
